Smart City Test Center

The ACM offers a one-of-a-kind global Smart City Test Center providing a platform for the integration of emerging mobility technologies in intentionally challenging environments. With over 500 acres of variable road systems and customizable test environments, ACM offers:

The ACM Smart City Test Center is unique from other test centers in that it is fully equipped with the technologies that enable test and validation of V2X interoperability.

At ACM companies can test:

ITS and Mobility Infrastructure

ACM has an integrated Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) network outfitted with 90-strand fiberoptic backhaul throughout the site.

Through ACM’s relationship with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), ACM is able to leverage the nation’s largest IT enabled roadway experiment with control algorithms and automated vehicle behaviors to examine impact on traffic flow in public testing settings.

  • Speeds vary between 50 – 65 MPH, based on road geometry and DOT standard formulae with higher speed tests evaluated on a case-by-case basis
