ACM is a non-profit testing, education and product development facility for future mobility, designed to enable safe validation and self-certification of connected and automated vehicle technology, and to accelerate the development of voluntary standards. ACM is one of 10 U.S. DOT designated Automated Vehicle Proving Grounds in the U.S.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Connected and Automated Driving Systems Testing

Position Title: Summer Intern (2018) – Connected and Automated Driving Systems Testing

Position Responsibilities: Work closely with ACM management to achieve the following:

  • Integration of data collection and control hardware on test vehicles
  • Test script development including aspects of case research, programming, and physical design
  • Set-up/tear-down of vehicle testing protocols
  • Data off-load and management
  • Safety analyses and risk mitigation
  • Report development
  • Customer interaction
  • Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements: Degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or similar.

Position Title: Summer Intern (2018) – Connected and Automated Driving Systems Standards

Position Responsibilities: Work closely with ACM management to achieve the following:

  • Stakeholder requirement and policy research, collection and analysis
  • Labeling, analysis and correlation of large datasets
  • Test data analysis and visualization
  • Report development
  • Customer interaction
  • Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements: Degree program in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Simulation, Math, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar.

Connected and Automated Vehicle Facility Construction

Position Title: Summer Intern (2018) – Connected & Automated Vehicle Facility Construction

Position Responsibilities: Work closely with ACM management to achieve the following:

  • Tracking and reporting of construction activity progress
  • Field inspection and field observation of various construction activity
  • Review of contract specifications
  • Schedule and attend meetings, take meeting notes
  • Coordination between contractor activities and Testing Operator activities
  • Develop and/or review contractor work schedules
  • Contractor interactions
  • Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements: Degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering or similar.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Education/Communications

Position Title: Summer Intern (2018) – Educations/Communications

Position Responsibilities: Work closely with ACM management to achieve the following:

  • Support development of programs for workforce development, and analyze findings
  • Identify funding sources including federal, state and private sources
  • Develop technology commercialization methodology
  • Assist in marketing outreach and communications
  • Schedule and attend meetings and take notes
  • Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements: College or university degree program in a non-technical field of study.
